Salvia’s (also called sages) are amongst the most versatile plants around.
Salvia’s seldom disappoint and if you have high expectations of your plants (like me!) – then Salvia are a great option! One of the main reasons why I love these plants are simply because they always look good, are super hardy (needing very little water and TLC) and are typically packed with flowers for almost the entire spring, summer & autumn … (ie. good value for money!)
The Salvia family is large with several different varieties offering an abundance of long lasting, easy growing colour. Salvia flowers may be small in size but they are big on colour! Flowers are produced in mass on long sprays, creating a ball of colour in the garden. They are also particularly sought after by bees, butterflies and other garden insect. A winner on all fronts!
These hardy perennials thrive in beds, borders & containers.
